About the Home Alone Course
The Home Alone Course is suitable for students ages 9-11. This is a 3 hour course generally offered on a Saturday from 9am-noon or a week night from 4pm-7pm. Usually there is a mix of boys and girls in the class. The maximum class size is 18 students.
During the Home Alone Course, students engage in a variety of interactive and hands-on activities while learning about the following topics:
- Establishing a routine
- House Key is your responsibility
- Strangers
- Telephone
- Emergencies
- Basic First Aid
- Internet Safety
This is the Canadian Safety Council Home Alone Course. Students participate in a review at the end of the class and are awarded certificates of participation.
